Job Summary
The IT Network Coordinator & Support Specialist is responsible for the coordination of a variety of support functions as they relate to the computers systems and functions at Summit Pathology.  This individual is responsible for assisting the Director of IT in supporting the IT infrastructure such as servers, switches, network cabling, firewall and overall network. 
In addition, this role serves as a point of contact for the IT Help Desk and performs all associated duties to support end users with day-to-day technical needs. Responsibilities include managing IT help desk issues; coordinating service requests between users and application or operations staff; training and assisting users with system applications; responding to technical problems; collaborating with technical teams to resolve issues and enhance system performance; and providing assistance with scheduling special production requirements.
This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials related to Summit Pathology’s hardware and software environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with all network infrastructure monitoring and maintenance
    • Assist Director of IT with server & network equipment maintenance and updates
    • Monitor server, switch and firewall performance and coordinate configuration adjustments with the Director of IT
    • Monitor server backups and coordinate challenges with the Director of IT
    • Assist Director of IT with network maintenance, security, group policies, including on-premise or cloud resources
  • Assist with administering Microsoft 365 tenant environment
    • Manage Entra ID (Azure AD) including user accounts, groups, conditional access policies, and MFA
    • Manage & Support Microsoft 365 Exchange, Teams, and Sharepoint
    • Support Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, compliance policy management, and application deployment
    • Support Microsoft Autopilot device provisioning and deployment workflows
    • Maintain M365 license inventory and assist with license assignment and cost management
    • Stay current with Microsoft platform updates, feature releases, and security advisories
  • IT Help Desk Platform:
    • The IT Help Desk platform includes, but is not limited to, all technology used to manage IT support operations, including ticketing systems, asset inventory tools, and IT documentation repositories
    • Maintain productive working relationships with platform vendor(s) and stay current with platform features, updates, and capabilities
    • Maintain a comprehensive IT asset inventory, including hardware, software, licenses, and peripherals
    • Communicate and coordinate updates, maintenance, issues, or configuration changes related to the platform with the Director of IT
  • Provide technical support for End users and all IT products
    • Review, respond to, and manage help desk tickets in a timely manner
    • Laptops, desktops, VoIP phones, copiers, printers, fax machines
    • Configure and deploy new devices
    • Coordinate and maintain updates and upgrades for workstation operating systems and software products
    • Provide training and assistance to users as needed
    • Create, maintain, and manage user login accounts and access permissions
    • Administer new hire orientation and technology training
    • Provide a weekly summary of ticket status and trends
  • Make recommendations regarding new IT-related equipment, tools, or software
  • Coordinate with the Director of IT and other IT support staff when issues require additional analysis or escalation
  • Contribute to departmental goals by accomplishing related duties as required
  • Assist with coverage when other IT staff are out of the office
  • Participate in after-hours on-call support on a rotating schedule
  • Ability to work remotely, with availability for on-site support within one hour when required by support needs
  • Provide support to other IT staff as needed
  • Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years related experience
  • Working knowledge of basic network concepts and technologies such as server operating systems, virtual servers, LAN, WiFi, VLANs, switches and firewalls
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Intune, Entra and M365 administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience providing customer service in a technical environment
  • Experience with relational database concepts, data maintenance, querying, and data manipulation
  • Experience creating data extracts, data consolidation, report structures, and automated reporting
  • General knowledge of technology systems, software, programming languages or logic
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality to protect patient and organizational information

  • Level I = Minimal health or physical health from chemicals or exposure. 
  • All employees must adhere to Summit Pathology’s PPE policies and procedures when appropriate
